Trained in various cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based treatment approaches, I support and guide my clients towards a better quality of life.  I specialize in helping families and individuals adjust to major medical illnesses.  I also have expertise working with teens who are navigating a host of new social and academic pressures in the high school and college years.

Couple's therapy requires a different style of treatment.  Although I take a skills-based approach, i.e. facilitating clear,  non-judgmental communication, I also use insight-oriented therapy as a backdrop.  Research suggests that having  insight into your partner's history can be key to happiness over the long-haul.  In other words, understanding (and being able to accept) your partner's worries and values will enable you to put unwanted behavior in-context.  Ultimately, this fosters a more tolerant home environment, and I can help you build this.
